Many of our circles, events, and workshops or classes are appropriate for children ages ten and older, especially those who are curious about Pagan, Earth-centered, or nature-centered spirituality. Because some gatherings include quiet reflection or guided meditation, younger children may find it difficult to remain engaged for the entire ritual. All children must be supervised by a parent or specified adult. If unsure, please contact the event coordinator before attending.
You may see a wide variety of clothing at our gatherings, from robes, kilts, jewelry, dresses, and ritual attire to casual everyday clothes such as jeans and tee shirts. You are welcome to dress in a way that feels meaningful to your spiritual practice, but special clothing is never required. Comfortable, casual attire is always appropriate. Please also consider the weather and if the event will take place indoors or outside.
Whenever conditions allow, we enjoy holding circles outdoors so we can celebrate in direct connection with the natural world. However, extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, noise, or accessibility needs may require us to move inside. Contact the event coordinator for the most current location information.
Participants are often invited to remain after the ritual for conversation, food, and community time. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and ask questions about the ceremony, Pagan traditions, Earth-centered spirituality, Unitarian Universalism, or our group. Our officers and ritual leaders will be glad to speak with you.
Food and drinks may be shared potluck-style, with offerings ranging from light refreshments to a full meal, sometimes with lists of ingredients for those with allergens. First-time guests should never feel obligated to bring anything. We understand when someone needs to leave after the ritual, but we hope you will stay awhile and allow us the chance to welcome you more fully.
Please ask the the individual, circle leader or event coordinator before taking photographs or recording during any gathering or event. Photography may be welcome during some portions of an event and inappropriate during others. Also, some people may not want their photo taken or uploaded to the internet. Please respect everyone's consent. Our group may occasionally designate someone to take pictures for community communications, social media, or the website. Anyone who prefers not to be photographed may speak with the event coordinator or photographer on site, and that request will be respected.
Accessibility varies between the indoor and outdoor locations used for our gatherings. Some venues may offer accessible parking, entrances, restrooms, seating, and level pathways, while others may have stairs, uneven ground, or limited facilities. Please contact the event coordinator before attending for information about the specific location and to discuss any accommodations that may help you participate comfortably.
